Day 23 ~ God Is Big Enough! Part II

by | Jan 23, 2015

“Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them like a tent to dwell in; who brings princes to nothing, and makes the rulers of the earth as emptiness.” Isaiah 40:22b-23

If you know anything about the stars and the universe, you know they’re really big compared to us; but to God, they’re so small. So we know God is concerned about the galaxies and stars, but what about the things on our tiny planet? Does God even see us and our little problems? Or is He only concerned about big things like galaxies and stars? Does He see me in my everyday life?

god_is_big_enough-441288Yes, He does! Our tiny planet was the only one He chose to visit and take on the form of a human. Yes, that’s right. God in all His power came in the weakness of human flesh. Jesus was 100% man and 100% God. He understands weakness. He understands temptation (Heb 4:15). He understands you right now (Ps 139). He even knows how many hairs are on our head (Matt 10:30)!

Furthermore, God died for you. Think about it – God, so big and powerful, died for us little grasshoppers. He made you in His image and He bought you with His own blood, so how can you say He doesn’t care about your little problems? Does His love for you apply only to Creation and the Cross? Didn’t He give us the Holy Spirit to live inside us (I Cor 3:16)? Didn’t He promise that He would never forsake us (Heb 13:5)? Didn’t He say He’d return one day to take us to our home in Heaven that He is preparing for us at this moment (John 14:2-3)?

I love how all-encompassing God is in His power and involvement. He knows your biggest issues and is strong enough to handle them. He also understands your smallest problems and is kind enough to meet your needs.

So many times the enemy tells us our problem is too big for God to handle, but have you forgotten how big He is! So many times the enemy tells us God is not interested or concerned about our smallest issues, but remember, He understands our weaknesses.

His power is all-encompassing. From the biggest problem to the smallest issue, and everything in between, He can handle it, and He wants to! He longs to hear the concerns of your heart. Don’t be alone; talk to Him as your dearest friend – and know that He is close.

Remind yourself of the truth, because the truth sets you free. “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” (Gal 5:1)

Why the emphasis on reminding ourselves of the truth? I mean, we’veReminderGodIsBig heard it before and we know it already! It is because we have an enemy who constantly reminds us of lies, and if we’re not firmly grounded in the truth, we will not stand firm in the truth. We’ll fall into bondage, away from the truth.

Here are some questions for you (and me) to ponder and meditate on the truth. We all know that God is big, but chances are if you’re anything like me, I need to be shown that I don’t always live like my God is BIG. And why would we want to be missing out on God’s strength displayed in our lives?
If God is so big, why do you fear what others think?

If God is so big, why don’t you trust Him to show you the next step you should take, in His timing?

If God is so big, why don’t you trust Him to satisfy the deepest desires of your heart?

If God is so big, why don’t you cast the burden you’re carrying today on Him?
