“I Had Never Given God My Whole Heart”

by | Oct 4, 2013

I grew up in a Christian family and had memorized scripture throughout my life, but had never truly “heard from God.” While I was on the Journey, all the leaders kept emphasizing the importance of giving your WHOLE heart to God by repenting and trusting fully in Him.

My rhema for the week would have had to have been Jeremiah 29:13 which says, “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” When we were in the Northwoods and fasted for a day, it was then that God showed me that rhema and I realized just why I had never heard from God; I had never given Him my WHOLE heart; my fears, my past, and my desires.

That week, up in the Northwoods, I gave Him all my heart, and when I did, I found Him, and I heard from Him.  Being on the Journey drew me closer to Christ and strengthened my relationship with Him.  It showed me who God really is and taught me how to lean on Him; my shield and my strength. Praise be to God, and may I draw closer to Him as I continue on the rest of my life’s Journey.
